Last time I could only stay 3 nights here for work. This time with my sister and her husband, I will stay at my mother's house from July 5th to 13th. We go to the grocery stores, banks and clinics she often visits, contact the Japanese Consulate General in Seattle and NPOs that support Japanese nationals for various procedures, meet people, and investigate Do things … Oh, I wish I could speak English!
My mother can hardly speak Japanese. In fact, it was the conversation between me and her that the translator "POCKETALK" was most utilized. * Weighing dog food.
前回は仕事のため３泊しかできませんでした。今回は妹夫婦とともに、７月５日から13日まで母の家に滞在します。母の行きつけの食料品店や銀行、クリニックに同行したり、各種手続きのために在シアトル日本総領事館や邦人をサポートしてくれるNPO法人に連絡を取ったり、人と会ったり、調べものをしたり・・・。ああ、英語をしゃべれたらなぁ！
母は日本語をほとんど忘れてしまっています。実際、翻訳機POCKETALKが最も活躍したのは私と母とのやりとりでした。(^^;
